Uh-oh: Silicon Valley is building a Chinese-style social credit system

In China, scoring citizens’ behavior is official government policy. U.S. companies are increasingly doing something similar, outside the law.

O que fica a faltar é um acordo entre os grandes (Google, Apple, Fb, Amazon, Microsoft,…) para fazer um sistema como o Chinês para nos excluir a todos (sim, ler este blog vai dar uma pequena penalização por cada dia de acesso) de fazer actividades como: compras on-line, compras em lojas com cartão Visa ou MasterCard, aceder a Netflix ou tv cabo, usar um smartphone, …

Fiquem agora com uma pequena descrição do sistema chinês, e por inerência do que nos espera no futuro se no ocidente não houver oposição suficiente ao sistema.

China just introduced a universal credit score, where everybody is measured as a number between 350 and 950. But this credit score isn’t just affected by how well you manage credit – it also reflects how well your political opinions are in line with Chinese official opinions, and whether your friends’ are, too.

Sem a União Europeia, quem é que obrigaria os consumidores a pagarem até mais 40 dólares nos telemóveis com o sistema operativo Android para estes virem pré-instalados com a suite de aplicações da Google e que sempre foi gratuita até hoje?

Yesterday Breitbart published a leaked internal Google briefing about the shift Silicon Valley is making towards more censorship online. This followed leaks earlier in the day from The Intercept, which show how Google is contradicting themselves in regards to the censored search engine they are building for the Chinese government. You can read the briefing that Breitbart published here: Google: “The Good Censor”.

On page 53 of this internal Google briefing, Gab.com is cited as a “challenger app” and notes how users are moving to Gab in response to the censorship of Silicon Valley. Google argues for a “European” approach to speech standards on the internet, favoring “civility” over freedom.

Silicon Valley has shown their true colors, which is why they recognize Gab.com as a threat to their control and dominance over the internet. They are rejecting the cherished internet ideals of liberty and free expression in exchange for censorship and partnerships with the Chinese government.

Se o caso do despedimento do James Damore já não indiciava nada de positivo, cada vez fica mais claro que a Google virou polícia do pensamento.
