“The world’s largest debt sale was completed yesterday when Verizon sold $49bn of bonds (…) The group sold its 10 year bond at a yield of 5.19 per cent or about 57 basis points higher than its existing debt for that maturity [and 228 basis points higher than the 10 year US Treasury bond], a substantial concession for investors (…) The deal was marketed by 11 banks, led by Barclays, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley. Total fees on the deal, including the financing package, are expected to be at least $550m for all the banks (…) ‘It’s a good day’ said one banker who worked on the deal”, no FT de hoje.
